Department Overview

Located immediately south of Seattle, and west of Sea-Tac Airport, King County Fire District #2 provides fire suppression, fire prevention, hazardous materials response, mutual aid response, and emergency medical services in cooperation with King County Medic One, Valley Communications Center, and others.

As public servants to the community, we are committed to excellence and dedicated to the efficient delivery of these services.

The Department consists of seventy-six (76) career firefighters. We also have volunteers assigned to duty nights. Our personnel staff one (1) battalion chief rig, four (4) fire engines, one (1) aerial ladder truck and two (2) aid cars around the clock that provide protection for the approximately 80,000 citizens within our 21.3 square miles. Advanced Life Support (ALS) is provided by King County Medic One, and they have a rig, Medic 4, stationed out of our headquarters at Station 28 that provides for quicker medic-related responses. Private ambulance (Tri-med) is typically utilized to transport non-ALS patients to local hospitals.
