The authority having jurisdiction over Unincorporated King County (White Center) is the King County Fire Marshal's Office. They can be contacted at (206) 296-6600. To learn how to use TCE please visit Training | The Compliance Engine. Our staff works with citizens, businesses and property developers to ensure the Fire Code is met and safety is a priority. Included in the scope of work handled by the FMO are fire and life safety inspections of our businesses and apartments, youth fire intervention, origin and cause fire investigations (with assistance from the King County Fire Investigation Unit), and review and inspection on new fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and kitchen hood suppression systems. To name a few. King County Fire District #2 currently employs one Fire Marshal and three Captain Inspectors. Fire Inspector
Capt. Matt Lemanu (photo pending) (206) 209-4115 152nd South Through Normandy Park Captain Mativa Lemanu (Matt) was born and raised in White Center and began as a volunteer firefighter there with the North Highline Fire District in 1995. He was hired in 2000 and found his passion in the technical rescue disciplines. He has instructed for 20 plus years in every Zone 3 technical rescue instructor cadre and helped develop Zone 3’s Technical Rescue Strategic Plan. Matt promoted to captain in 2018 and has been an acting battalion chief since 2020. He's mentored and developed countless firefighters over his 25-year career and has now found his way into the Fire Marshal’s Office as an inspector as of January 1st, 2025. He is eager for new challenges and looks forward to continuing to serve the community in his new role as an inspector. |
